Changing the Angle name and description
Note
This functionality is only available if you have sufficient privileges. Your privileges are maintained by your system administrator in the IT Management Console.
You can personalize your Angles by adding your own name and description.
Execute the Angle (see Executing an Angle or Template). The Angle results page opens.
There are three methods to open the Angle description:
On the Details pane, on the the Angle tab, click
in the Description section.
At the top of the Details pane, click
next to the Angle name.
Click
next to the Angle name in the breadcrumbs of the Action bar.
The Angle description dialog box opens.
Depending on your permissions, you can edit the following Angle characteristics:
ID - By default, every Angles for SAP item gets a unique, random ID. You can change this ID to a more human-readable phrase if you are authorized to do so.
Languages - You can make an Angle available in multiple languages by adding them here. An Angle must have a name and a description in the additional language.
Name - It is important to give your Angle a clear and concise name. This makes it easier to identify at a glance what the Angle is about.
Description - Add a clear description of the data that the Angle uses and what it presents to the viewer. The default Angles of the system always come with a standard description that includes a Summary, an Explanation, a Technical background, and a Related topics section. We strongly suggest you also add this information to your Angles, as this will make it easier for other users to understand what the Angle is about.
Click Save to save the Angle description.
Note
If you edit an Angle that is linked to an automation task, you will get a confirmation prompt to indicate this. If you have edited one of the Displays in the Angle, the confirmation dialog box will list all changed Displays. Deselect a Display if you do not want to save the changes you made. If you have sufficient privileges, click
to open the corresponding automation task in the IT Management Console.
Only save your changes if you are aware of their impact. Changing an Angle that is linked to an automation task may cause the automation task to fail.
