Using a reference line or band
With a reference line or band, you can focus on a certain value or range of values in your Chart. A reference line focuses on a specific value, and a reference band focuses on a certain range of values. You can add a reference line or band to the following Chart types:
Area
Bar
Bubble
Column
Line
Scatter
In the Chart options sections, go to Data (vertical axis) and hover over the field name. A set of icons appears.
Click
on the field for which you want to define a line value or band values. The Reference line dialog box opens. The units used for the line or band depend on the data type of the field.
You can add or edit a reference line or a reference band, or remove an existing reference line or band:
To add or edit a reference line, enter your reference value in the From field. Make sure that the To field is empty.
To add or edit a reference band, enter the lower range value in the From field and the upper range value in the To field.
To add color to your line or band, select the Color and specify the Opacity.
To remove an existing reference line or band, click Clear all.
Click OK. Your Chart is updated.
